What else should you know about renting a car in Marrakech?

Is a deposit required for every rental in Marrakech?

Yes, unless the no-deposit waiver is taken. The deposit is 3,000 MAD on economy and compact cars, 6,000 MAD on 4x4 and SUV models, and 15,000 MAD on luxury and convertible models.

Does booking on WhatsApp need a credit card?

No. Booking on WhatsApp takes no online payment and no deposit; a card is only needed at pickup for the refundable pre-authorisation, or waived entirely for €7 a day.

What is the minimum age to rent a car in Marrakech?

21 years old, rising to 25 for luxury models. Drivers under 25 pay a €5-a-day young-driver surcharge on eligible classes, and a licence held for two years is required for the no-deposit waiver.

What excess applies if a rental car is damaged?

8,000 MAD is the standard excess on every model. Reducing the excess to zero costs €9 a day, and CDW plus theft protection are included on every rental as standard.

Do you need an international driving permit to drive in Marrakech?

No. A national driving licence printed in Latin script is enough to drive in Marrakech and across Morocco; no international driving permit is required at pickup or on the road.

Is mileage unlimited on every rental car?

Yes, except on the equipped 4x4 booked for desert routes, which is capped at 250 km a day. Every other model in the fleet, from the Sandero to the Macan GTS, carries unlimited mileage.
