How does age affect the price of a rental car in Marrakech?

Age changes the price twice. Drivers aged 21 to 24 add €5 a day to the quoted rate, over the standard deposit. Drivers 25 and over pay the listed rate with no surcharge, and only drivers 25 or over can book luxury or convertible models.

  1. Send your date of birth and licence date

Message us your birth date and the date your licence was first issued, alongside your travel dates and the class you want.

  2. Get the surcharge quoted upfront

If you are 21 to 24, the €5-a-day surcharge is added to the daily rate before you confirm. If you are under 25 and want a luxury model, we quote an eligible class instead.

  3. Add named drivers under the same rules

Each additional driver supplies the same licence details and pays €5 a day. A driver under the age threshold cannot be added, even as a passenger allowed to drive occasionally.

  4. Collect the car and sign

We check the original licence and passport against the booking at handover and sign a condition report. No age recheck is needed after this point.

What else should you know about age limits in Marrakech?

Can an 18-year-old rent a car in Marrakech?

No. Marrakesh Car Rental's minimum age is 21 for every vehicle class, with no exception for economy or compact cars. Drivers under 21 cannot be placed on a contract, insured, or added as a named additional driver at any price.

Does a driver aged 21 to 24 pay more for every car?

Yes. A flat €5-a-day young-driver surcharge applies to drivers aged 21 to 24 across economy, compact, automatic and SUV classes. It is quoted with the daily rate, not added at collection, and luxury models stay closed to this age group.

Can a 22-year-old rent a Range Rover Evoque or Porsche Macan GTS?

No. Luxury and convertible models, including the Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan GTS, require the driver to be 25 or over. No surcharge lowers this threshold; the class is simply unavailable below 25.

Is there a maximum driver age in Marrakech?

No. Marrakesh Car Rental sets no upper age limit on any vehicle class. The requirements are a valid licence held for two years and matching identification; age above 25 carries no surcharge and no extra paperwork.

Do additional drivers need to meet the same age rules?

Yes. Every named driver on the contract meets the same minimum age and two-year licence rule as the main driver, and each pays the €5-a-day additional-driver fee on top of any young-driver surcharge that applies.

What licence does a young driver need in Marrakech?

A national driving licence in Latin script, held for at least two years, is enough. No International Driving Permit is required for tourist rentals, but the licence's issue date must clear the two-year threshold by the collection date.
